Thanks for the Book, Now How About a Job Offer?

I am not sure that Dr. Seuss wrote the book "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" during a recession. Despite the interjection of mildly depressing times to remind us of "waiting" and "wrong turns," the book seems optimistic that a new and "exciting" course will lead to success and happiness (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed). It could be that I was just too one of the many overly-optimistic college graduates to again be thrust into the world of unemployment. And despite the fact that everyone tells me it will all work out in the end, I am beginning to question all of Dr. Seuss's wonderful advice (especially because I have yet to have a good experience with green eggs). While applying for jobs has assured me that a black hole for resumes exists, it has YET to suck out my entire soul. However, I worry that the fact my "contacts" I spent so long building are scraping away at the happiness that 4-years of bliss at Ohio University.

So, for now I will dabble in the word of blogs (which I assume is also a black hole for untalented and whiny post-grad journalism majors) and I will continue to spend my graduation money on beer at the bars - hoping to have a moment of COLLEGE - while I watch re-runs of Grey's Anatomy and Wife Swap on Lifetime.
